About the Artist
I was born in Austin, and as a child and a teenager I made and sold beaded and wire-wrapped jewelry that I had mostly self-taught myself to make. After graduating high school I came to the University of North Texas for their fashion design program.
Fashion Design ended up not liking me, and I quickly fell back in love with my childhood desire to make jewelry. What was a hobby quickly became a career, as I changed my major within a month of starting my entry level metalsmithing class.
As of fall 2007, I will be a senior level Metalsmithing and Jewelry major at UNT, in Denton, TX. I graduate in December, 2007 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. My plans after graduation have not yet been set in stone, but some of the possibilities are graduate school, a design position in a jewelry company, or opening my own business. It is certain that no matter what path I take I will continue to create with metal.
